The mission of the Douglas
County Sheriff’s Office is to protect and serve the citizens
of Douglas County. To fulfill this mission, the Sheriff shall provide
for the following: a preventative and responsive patrol operation,
supported by an effective investigative division; a safe and secure
custodial facility for all persons confined there until lawfully
released; an administrative division to provide record keeping;
a telecommunication center to direct information and requests for
assistance from citizens to the correct authority; provide security
for the district courts and execute various civil and criminal orders
from the court. Sheriff’s Office personnel, acting on behalf
of the Sheriff, are authorized and directed to carry out their assigned
responsibilities.
