WHAT
WE DO:
The County Recorder is an elected official. The Recorder's Office
has 4 full-time employees. The office handles
recording all real estate and personal property (UCC) documents.
They do vital statistics such as birth certificates on a statewide computer
system. Other areas handled include death certificates, marriage
licenses, notary commission registration, passports, military discharges
and ordinations.

Fee is not charged when adults 16 and over with
fully valid
passport books apply for the passport card using a DS-82 form.
Marriage licenses, notary public and passport applications must be done
in person at the Recorder's Office.
A copy of a certified
birth certificate or a copy of a certified death certificate can be requested
by printing and completing the appropriate application form and bringing
it to the Recorder's Office or it can be mailed if your signature is notarized
and you include a check for the appropriate fee. The application

WHERE
WE ARE LOCATED:
Our office is on the first floor of the Douglas County Courthouse.
There is public parking available on the southwest side of the Courthouse.
Entering the building from this parking lot, we are up a short flight
of stairs and to the right at the end of the hallway. There is also
an elevator in the lobby at this entrance to take you to Floor 1.
