COUNTY AUDITOR/TREASURER:    Thomas E. Reddick

WHAT WE DO:
The staff consists of an elected Auditor/Treasurer, an Assistant Auditor/Treasurer and seven deputies.  This office is responsible for the financial records and cash management of Douglas County.  We are responsible for the computation and collection of property taxes and for disbursement to the taxing entities within the county.  We are also responsible for the election process which includes voter registration and absentee voting.  If you have questions regarding the election process, please call us at 320-762-3881.  Other duties include payroll and employee benefits administration, accounts payable, budgeting, the preparation of truth-in-taxation notices, abatement processing, tax forfeiture land sales, licensing (beer, wine, liquor, auctioneers, legal gambling, etc.) and worker's compensation and property/casualty insurance for the county.  We have county plat books and addressing atlases for sale and we provide notary services.  This office works very closely with the Offices of the State Auditor and Secretary of State to insure integrity in the county's finances and in the election process.
