for the computation and collection of property taxes and for disbursement
to the taxing entities within the county. We are also responsible
for the election process which includes voter registration and absentee
voting. If you have questions regarding the election process, please
call us at 320-762-3881. Other duties include payroll and employee

TAX FORFEITED LAND:
The Douglas

lands. These are properties that are awarded to the state due to non-payment
of taxes for five years (three years for commercial property located in
the city limits) and are then sold at county auction.
For more information and a listing of the parcels within Douglas County
that have been received as tax-forfeited lands, please click HERE
to go to the Tax Forfeited Land web page.
WHERE
WE ARE LOCATED:
The Auditor/Treasurer's Office is located on the first floor of the Douglas
County Courthouse adjacent to the public parking lot at the southwest
corner of the building. From the lobby level you may take the elevator
to the first floor or take a short flight of stairs and turn to the right.
We are the first office on the left (first two windows) and across the
hall from the elevator entrance.
