WHAT
WE DO:
Douglas County Social Services is responsible for assuring the well-being
of Douglas County residents by providing the following services:
foster care, protection services, adoption counseling, family-based services,
licensing, chemical dependency, mental health, mental retardation related
conditions, child care funding, mental health community support, child
support, paternity establishment, representative payee, medical assistance,
food stamps, Minnesota Care, emergency assistance, cash assistance (MFIP,
GA, MA, and GRH), fraud prevention.
Our office hours are
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Voucher forms are provided on-line to request and/or authorize payment

English Proficiency Plan
The Minnesota Family Investment Plan (MFIP) Consolidated Fund Act and
the Children and Community Services (CSSA) Consolidated Fund (Minnesota
Statutes 2561.626 and 256M, respectively) requires counties to submit
a biennial service agreement to the Minnesota Department of Human Services
(DHS) to recieve these public funds. Click the link below to

WHERE
WE ARE LOCATED:
Our office is located at 809 Elm St in Alexandria. We are at the
south end of the Douglas County Services Center near the pool. There
is parking available south of the building and the main entrance to our
office is off of Elm St. The receptionist is to the left as you
enter the main lobby of the office.
