Childbirth Classes


Childbirth Class
4 class series - $100 per couple

It is recommended that you attend Childbirth Classes in the third trimester of your pregnancy.

Please bring 2 pillows, a blanket and your "Gift of Motherhood" book. If you haven't received a copy of the book, please contact your doctor.

These sessions will cover the following areas of pregnancy, birth, and newborn care:

bullet Breathing & Relaxation  
bullet Comfort Measures & Labor Support  
bullet Interventions & Medications  
bullet Tour of the Birthplace  
bullet Postpartum and Baby Cares  
bullet Car Seat Education

Time: 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

January 17, 24, 31 & February 7
February 18 (Saturday) 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
March 6, 13, 20, 27
April 21 (Saturday) 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
May 22, 29 & June 5, 12
July 21 (Saturday) 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
August 14, 21, 28 & September 4
September 22 (Saturday) 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
October 2, 9, 16, 23
November 17 (Saturday) 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Location: Douglas County Hospital, North & South Conference Rooms (lower level), 111 - 17th Ave E, Alexandria MN 56308

for Saturday class: 1/2 hour lunch on your own - lunch is available for purchase at the hospital cafeteria

 

NOTE: We will no long be holding Childbirth Refesher courses.

MA (Medical Assistance) and PrimeWest will pay for classes if this is your only form of insurance. Receipts may be obtained to submit to your private insurance. No one will be refused because of inability to pay.
