The
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has completed revised
Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) for Douglas County. In response
to the revised maps, FEMA and the Minnesota DNR is requiring
the County to revise it’s Floodplain Management Ordinance.
Copies of the draft ordinance are available in the Land & Resource
Management Office, Douglas County Public Library, or by clicking
the link to the right. |

Public
comments will be received for 30 days from the date of this
notice (September 30, 2009). One of two public hearings
will be held at 6 pm on Tuesday, October
13th at the Douglas County Courthouse in the Commissioners
Room. Notice for the second hearing will be posted at least 10
days
prior to the hearing.

WHERE WE ARE LOCATED:
The Land & Resource Management
Office is on the second floor of the Douglas County Courthouse.
There is public parking available on the southwest side of the Courthouse.
Entering the building from this parking lot, there is an elevator in the
lobby to take you to floor 2. Or if you prefer, go up the short
flight of stairs and the stairway to the second floor is on your left.
From the top of the stairs or the elevator, go to the right and the Land
& Resource Management Office is half way down the hallway on the left
hand side.

by Douglas County Public Works, including sensitive features maps
by township, half-section maps with and without aerial photos, an
interactive parcel map allowing you to see and zoom into various properties
as well as a searchable plat database. |
