How do I get to the Courthouse? The Douglas County Courthouse is located at 305 8th Ave W in Alexandria. This is two blocks off of Broadway to the west. Turn off of Broadway using 7th Ave or 9th Ave. 8th Ave is not a through street off of Broadway. How do I get to the Services Center? The Douglas County Services Center is one block off of Broadway to the west. The Law Enforcement Center is located on 7th Ave. Entrance to Public Health Nursing and Social Services is off of 9th Ave and is located on the upper level of the Douglas County Services Center off the parking lot at the south end of the building. The Motor Vehicle entrance is off of Elm Street. The entrance to the Douglas County Library is on the Fillmore St. side of the building. How do I get to Public Works? The Douglas County Public Works Department is located 526 Willow Drive in Alexandria. What hours are the county offices open: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the exception of the Douglas County Library. The Library is open 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. On which holidays are the county offices closed? In addition, the county offices are closed the Friday after Thanksgiving and for the afternoon on Christmas Eve day. Please note that we are open on Columbus Day. If an observed holiday falls on a Saturday, then the county offices will be closed the preceding Friday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, the offices are closed the following Monday.
