Absentee Voting Information

Absentee ballots are available to eligible voters who will be absent from their precinct on election day or who cannot vote in person due to illness, disability or religious discipline.  Absentee ballots are available from the Auditor's Office 30 days prior to the primary and general election.  Requests for absentee ballots must be made in person or by mail. The request must be signed by the voter and must include the voter's legal residence address, temporary mailing address if any, and the reason the voter cannot vote in person.

In addition to the regular Courthouse hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, the County Auditor's Office will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and until 5 p.m. Monday, prior to the primary and general elections.

The Minnesota Office of the Secretary of State web site has absentee ballot applications and additional information pertaining to voters living within the U.S. and voters living outside the U.S. including military personnel.
